Promwad Shares STB Design Recipes and Helps Accelerate Samsung SoC-Based Development
Today, June 3, 2010, our company has taken part in the First All-Russian Datacom – Data Transfer conference. Host of the event – Moscow Electronic Components magazine, has united leading developers and manufacturers of electronic devices to discuss such up-to-date issues as information processing & transmission, digital TV, wire and wireless technologies (WiMax, Wi-Fi, ZigBee, ISM), as well as modules and components used for wireless and mobile devices development.
Anton Tonkovich, our Embedded Linux software engineer, has made a report on the topic ”STB Reference Designs and Potentials of Increasing Russia's Added Value”. He has shared with the audience recipes for creating competitive Russian-designed . Within the digital television implementation program this issue is of special significance for Russia - considering the fact that the project aims to provide subscriber equipment to 95% of population.
Victor Polstyuk, Promwad engineer, has addressed the issue of rapid start in the development of electronic products. In his speech ”Samsung Processors & Quick Start Means”, he has presented examples of development tools for rapid prototyping of new devices and embedded systems based on Samsung processors. The audience had a chance to familiarize themselves with the basic features of S3C6410 and S5PC100 processors; and also to learn about the advantages of Pegasus PDK hardware platform.
A total of 200 electronics engineers have taken part in the conference. Reports have been provided by component manufacturers, multimedia and telecom solutions developers. Obviously such events contribute to the experience and best practices sharing, enable the companies to obtain expert opinions over a range of issues and, naturally, present their latest developments themselves.
