From June 1st to 3rd, Expocenter hosted the Navitech-Expo 2011 International Exhibition and the International Satellite Navigation Forum.
Vladimir Nichiporovich, Promwad sales expert, shared his impressions of this event:
“Initially, the Satellite Navigation Forum was the central event of the business program and the idea of an exhibition came later. The exhibition grew from about a dozen to a hundred exhibitors. However, it is numerical growth rather than growth in quality. Overathird ofall exhibitors are media industry representatives. Theremainingpart canbe divided into two categories:
a) companies that provide vehicle tracking and fuel control services; b) developers, manufacturers or distributors of GLONASS and GPS modules.
Most of the exhibition attendees are forum participants. These are navigation experts and representatives of the business community. The exhibition saw the largest number of visitors on the first day, up to 4-5 p.m., while on the second day the hall was half-empty as early as 3 p.m. and some stands were not given much attention.
However, my overall impression of the exhibition is positive. I think exhibiting companies should maintain a special focus on their participation in the forum where speakers will discuss topics that will be quite interesting for both navigation electronics developers and manufacturers”.
It should be noted that Navitech-Expo 2011 is the only specialized exhibition for satellite navigation technologies in Russia and the CIS countries. This year the exhibition attendees included companies from Ireland, China, Lithuania, Belarus, Russia, USA, Taiwan, Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
