The article “STWorkbench – environment for the development of digital TV set-top boxes on the basis of ST processors” by the key Promwad specialist Anton Tonkovich was published in the trade journal Vstraivaemye Sistemy (Embedded Systems). The article reveals the existing tendency towards the adaption of open standards of the Eclipse platform.

Certainly, open standards give flexibility that is impossible in proprietary environments and a series of advantages as well: additional functionality, system’s performance monitoring tools, and a huge number of useful plug-ins from off-site producers. Work in STWorkbench – the environment for the development of digital TV set-top boxes on the ST processors – is a good example of the possibilities opening in front of software engineers.
