Promwad Innovation Company acted as sponsor of IV International Linux Vacation / Eastern Europe 2008 (LVEE 2008) conference for developers and users of free software held 26-29 June 2008 in Hrodna region, Belarus.

LVEE is held annually starting from 2005 and promotes ideas of developments on the basis of free software in the Republic of Belarus, and unites specialists and enthusiasts in this industry. Participants of the conference have a unique opportunity to know about modern tendencies of Open Source development, new possibilities and solutions.

The event's agenda included a module devoted to usage of free software in educational system, and a workshop devoted to work with Debian - project of creating free OS distributions.

Within this workshop Vlad Shakhov, a representative of Promwad Company, made a report on Debian Installer (d-i) as industrial platform for creating specialized distributions and installation environments, and a report on development processes in Promwad Company. The participants were interested in the role of Linux and free software in Promwad activities, specifics of projects based on the solutions from Atmel, and also in applied tools and development methodologies.

As the organizers of the conference noted, the presence of devices at LVEE, developed by Promwad Company, i.e. a possibility to see in practice the application of Linux in the sphere of embedded devices, and also relative novelty of covered topics became key moments which helped to provoke active interest to the delivered report among the participants.

In addition, within LVEE-2008 Uladzimir Nichyparovich, a representative of Promwad Company, delivered a presentation From s Contract Developer to a Design Centre, which covered tasks, targets and principles of Promwad Innovation Company, history of its development, main values and organization policy at local labor market. A special interest among the participants attracted the main principle of Promwad Company "Stay active with us!" and along with it the topic of outdoor activities, organization of corporate formal and informal events.

Promwad strives to popularize outdoor activities and adventure races in Belarus and that's why it actively promotes their development by attracting the initiative and the brave both to work within the Company and to take part in adventure races. So, at the same time with LVEE-2008 conference, in Minsk region, close to the town of Krupki, the second race, named "Velikoye Boloto", of "Promwad Tour'08" adventure races cup took place. By the way more than a hundred of people took part in it.

In the future, Promwad company plans to continue taking active part in Linux Vacation / Eastern Europe conferences for developers and users of free software. We believe that the organizational level of the event will stay as high as it was shown last time and the event will be still held in open air.
