On 28-29th June close to Krupki town, in "Velikoe Boloto" stow, another race of the same name with the event's venue - "Velikoe boloto" was held. This is the second event during the year within the "Promwad Tour '08" Adventure Races Cup. By keeping the established traditions of taking active part in such events, Prowmad came out as title sponsor of "Velikoe Boloto" adventure race, and participation of most company employees both in the race itself, and in its organization, demonstrated real effectiveness of the main Promwad's principle: Stay active with us!
It is a pleasure to mention that by now one can see positive tendencies in popularity of such events. So, if in "Udra" adventure rogaining, held end of May close to Radashkovichy Minsk region, 94 people took part, then more than hundred cycling amateurs came to participate in "Velikoe boloto"! Moreover, the growth of the organization level and the quality of preparation of adventure race stages is obvious.
As event's organizers noted, "Velikoe Boloto" adventure race was held according to the rules very close to the international rules of expeditionary adventure races. At that, organizers considered routes with several difficulty levels. Those who just started their adventure path could overcome a shorter variant of the route, which however also required considerable effort and skills.
Those participants who dared to challenge the full route had to deal with exhausting sand tracks of cycling stage, climb the slings up to a pine's top, where a breathtaking flight on the roller over the Elenka River awaited them. Next difficult stage was a night cross-walk via "Velikoe Boloto" stow, where one had to cross the old swamp twice through old overgrown roads and throughcuts. The most persistent teams could return to the base camp only at the dawn, while others were catching up during the day up to 17:00 (end of race).
This is just a short list of what the organizers of adventure race - "Promwad Tour" team - could achieve. In September the initiative group promises to organize a more fascinating and remarkable event - "Staryj Neman" adventure race, which will take place close to Navahrudak town and will be the final race in "Promwad Tour '08" Cup.
