The six annual Linux Vacation / Eastern Europe conference (LVEE 2010) was closed on July 4. Traditionally, our company has sponsored this event for free software developers and users and taken an active part in it.
This year the Promwad experts have focused on such topics as digital TV and GPS car systems and unveiled the following reports:
- ”Development of digital set-top boxes based on the STLinux platform” (Anton Tonkovich and Yuri Kazakevich),
- ”The use of Linux in GPS car tracking systems” (Viktor Polstyuk).
The conference brought together about one hundred fifty participants from seven countries at a camp base near Grodno, Belarus, where they shared their experience in Open Source solutions design, development, implementation and support. Different speakers have offered the listeners over 30 presentations on a wide range of business topics. Social issues were also covered at the conference during roundtable discussions and thematic video sessions.
“Gentoo Embedded at the Platforms Zoo” by Maksim Melnikau was named the best LVEE 2010 report. The winner received a memorable prize from the organizational committee and a sponsor prize from Promwad, embedded Linux devices.
