Conference “Top-Management: Power of Innovations”: Promwad’s Innovative Way of Development

A momentous event in the life of Belarusian business community has been the holding in Minsk (Belarus) IV International business-conference “Top-Management: Power of Innovations”. It is worth to note that organizers of this event constantly raise the level of this annual conference which couldn’t but please Belarusian business community by having attracted interest from its side. The organizers also invited foreign guests to participate in this event, including business-guru professor W. Chan Kim.

The conference was held on 21-22 November 2008 and its organizers were “IPM” business school and consulting company “Key solutions”. Sponsorship was provided by Promwad Innovation Company, the first independent electronics design-centre in CIS-countries.

Besides active participation in the organization of this event, Promwad’s CEO Roman Pakholkov made a report “Ecosystem – innovative way of development” at workshop “Organizational innovations and introduction of changes”. In his report Roman Pakholkov outlined company’s position and views on managing an innovative business, the key ones among them being: social responsibility, innovations and synergy.

The reporter visually showed on the example of generally accepted model of interaction of three business levels – contract electronics development (IDH), contract electronics manufacture (OEM, ODM, CEM) and product business – that after building all processes within each separate company it is possible to reach maximal general efficiency and settle conditions for development of innovations in engineering, technologies and production.

It is important to note that the given approach differs significantly from building a vertical scheme of business management, which makes impossible effective generation of innovative ideas. Here each business builds internal processes exclusively for itself, and general effect is reached at company’s ecosystem level. So, contract developer brings up and trains its staff of engineers by performing a great number of various custom projects. The manufacturer of original solutions works on creating technological and effective platforms. Product company is oriented towards its consumers and lives by marketing and advertising. Each minds its own business and at the same time all these companies focus on reaching common goals of ecosystem.

The position of Promwad Company is that exactly innovations in existing market opportunities can help companies make successful steps.

It is nice that the idea of ecosystem development in existing home market conditions evoked response among participants of the conference, which resulted in a great number of questions from the audience and a lively discussion, which moved far beyond the regulations.
