On April 7, Moscow hosted the conference Vehicle Instrumentation: Hardware and Technology Solutions. It was held within the framework of the Electronics-Transport business program. The Promwad Innovation Company took an active part in this event. Ivan Kuten, Head of the company’s Research and Development Department, made a special presentation, Application of integrated graphics controllers in onboard computers and instrument panels.
The key points of the presentation include: an overview of automotive production problems; a survey of hardware platform options; an analysis of Fujitsu Jade MB86R01 and Fujitsu Emerald MB86R11/R12 graphic controllers.
Special attention should be given to an overview of global experience of using these components in vehicle electronics development:
- navigation systems;
- instrument panels;
- instrument clusters;
- display systems in air, railway and sea transportation;
- vision and rear-view systems;
- displays / passenger infotainment systems.
Fujitsu Jade MB86R01 and Fujitsu Emerald MB86R11/R12 are used in most cars produced in the EU and Japan. Another important fact about these graphic controllers is their long support and production time.
The company has been working with Fujitsu controllers since 2009 and developments are made within the joint Russian-language competence center. The latest project is the Promwad Jade processor module based on the Fujitsu Jade MB86R01 SoC with the ARM 9 core and an integrated graphics processor. This module is designed specifically for use in vehicle electronics. Optional offers include a development kit, technical support and customization based on customers’ requirements.
