Promwad Innovation Company participated in IBC 2010 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. From the 10th to the 14th of September, our leading specialists demonstrated the latest products: electronic devices for markets for audio content and digital TV.
The main exhibit at the booth was a high-end digital set-top box based on CPU Sigma Designs SMP8654, which was designed for a Russian client, and soon will be launched into production in South Korea. It was designed to receive IPTV signals, terrestrial (DVB-T) and satellite broadcasting (DVB-S2). Video stream format is MPEG-2/4 H.264. The STB features HD video streaming, media playback from USB or SATA drives, picture slide-show, and personal video recording (PVR) functions. The device supports HDMI, SATA, eSATA, Gigabit Ethernet, S / PDIF, Wi-Fi.
Also the company presented a low-end solution for digital TV – small form factor STB (DVB-T). Optimizing BOM and using software based on OS Linux Promwad engineers were able to reduce the cost of this device, but at the same time they included such popular features as media playback from USB drive, electronic program guide (EPG), photo viewing, etc.
The Promwad’s devices and developments aroused the interest of companies that manufacture electronics for digital TV market. Now the potential clients are planning to start the development of the new multi-media solutions based on .
