Outcomes of New Electronics of Russia’09 Forum

It becomes a tradition for Promwad each spring to participate in the annual all-Russian forum of market leaders of electronics New Electronics of Russia Fofum. It is one of the few, and, probably, the only event that provides a real opportunity to make a dialogue between leading electronics companies and public authorities. The event was held on March 26, 2009 in Moscow.
The aim of the conference was searching for the answer to the burning question «How to develop the electronics in a crisis without losing a tempo?» And we are glad to bring out that the results obtained.

 This year the format of the conference was changed. Thus it increased the prestige of the event and its efficiency too. First of all, this time the event was held in Moscow, at the premises of the Institute of Contemporary Development ICD, as opposite to 2008 when it was held in the countryside. Secondly, the timing of the forum was reduced from two days to one that made it more dynamic and influenced its effectiveness.
The Conference was a meeting place for the most proactive group of companies representing the interests of Russian electronics industry, with the leading representatives of the government (Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Economic Development and others).
In the first part of the forum members of the Association of manufacturers of electronic equipment and appliances submitted their reports the audience. General Director of Publishing House «Electronica» Ivan Pokrovsky represented the most systematically the idea of a new strategy for the development of Russian electronics industries.
 After the break conference was continued in another way. After presenting the statements of independent experts on the prospects of further development in an uncertain environment at electronics market, the nominees of the award «New Electronic Russia» showed their projects.
Results of the award were summed by overall vote. Thus, among the companies that implement innovations for the use in electronics Elecard company became a prize-winner for Innovation Leader nomination. Elecard is world market leader in video codecs and modern solutions for the digital television. It was symbolic that the prize for the winner was presented by the member of the council of experts Roman Paholkov, the head of the Electronics Design Center Promwad, where video codecs and solutions for digital TV are widely implemented for modern electronic multimedia devices development.
In the nomination On the cutting edge of technology, which is traditionally focused on electronics design centers and contract developers, UniqueICs became a winner.
 The winner in Breakthrough nomination was Petrocommerce and OYO-GEO Impulse International that presented a joint investment project. The prize for Experts recognition was granted to Micran - a leading Russian manufacturer of microwave electronics and telecommunications equipment.
There is no doubt, that most of the forum’s participants were encouraged and full of optimism on further development of electronics industry in Russia, despite the harsh realities that shaped the economy in a downturn of the situation in the world. |
