Promwad Takes "Naliboki" Adventure Race To A New Level

At the end of May’09, not far from Maladzyechna (Belarus) “Naliboki” marathon took place. The event was organized by the “Adventure Races Federation” and sponsored by Promwad Innovation Company.

A fundamental difference of this event from the previous few was the scale of the organized event and the number of participants – the total route length amounted to 265 km, where more than 200 marathoners were competing.

Never before have Naliboki Forests seen such a great number of cyclists and runners. More than a hundred of bikers and half a hundred of running amateurs were conquering on 23rd-24th of May’09 the spaces of the largest woodland in Belarus in pursuit for victory in “Naliboki” marathon, organized by the “Adventure Races Federation” with Promwad’s sponsorship.

The starting points of “Naliboki” marathon were Maladzyechna and Ivianets – exactly here local people greeted two hundred of marathoners. The route of the Marathon went mainly trough forest roads. The organizers tried to make the distance maximally easy for orienteering by making detailed legend of route line and marking all crossroads with identification signs.

Each participant was free to finish his/her personal marathon after intermediate finishes, located at interval of 20-40 km in the picturesque places. Each participant, who made it up to the finish, received a memorable souvenir – a magnet depicting an elk, a symbol of force and endurance. Exactly these qualities were shown by the marathoners in full measure.

This marathon started a new tradition of making annual transit routes via one of the most picturesque corners of our Motherland – Naliboki Pushcha (Forest).

With support of Promwad Innovation Company and under aegis of the “Adventure Races Federation” “Naliboki” marathon will become even more spectacular, popular and fascinating in the next 2010.
