The engineering team of the Promwad Innovation Company has tested the operation of the combined GPS/GLONASS receivers GeoS-1M by the GeoStar Navigation Design Bureau and NAVIOR-24 by the NAVIS Engineering Bureau with GPSD software.
GPSD is open source software for Linux and UNIX-type operating systems, which helps implement geographic information functions based on GPS technologies. The GPSD package includes services that provide all data on the location/course/velocity of the sensors via TCP port 2947. This package also includes C library, a C++ class and a Python module — any of these components can be integrated in software for communication with the GPSD.
Based on the testing results, changes have been made to the GPSD software package, which has allowed to add the support of combined navigation receivers (GPS + GLONASS) with 24 tracking channels in this software product. Additionally, regression tests for GeoS-1M and NAVIOR-24 have been included in the package; they will be used for testing the next versions of the software by the GPSD software developers’ community (http://gpsd.berlios.de). |
