Case studies

Centralized system for media content playback

The developed system is based on a specialized Linux OS distribution containing Open Source applications required for playback of a great number of graphical, video and office file types: MPEG, WMV, AVI, MOV, VOB, QT, ASF, JPG, GIF, PNG, TTF, BMP, SWF, HTML, PDF, ODP, PPT. The system supports Split Screen mode to display several applications at the same time. Added functionality for event logging, which allows generating various reports on the content played back.

High-performance servo-motor controller board

January 2007
On the basis of ADSP BlackFin BF532 Promwad developed simulator platform controller designed for use in amusement industry. The device calculated spatial coordinates and defines platform position on the basis of data from simulator-program. The circuit contains USB 2.0, 6xRS-485, RS-232 interfaces, six analog channels for controlling motor inverters, six ADC inputs for direct connection of rotation angle sensors.

WiFi-ZigBee-USB extender card for AD EZ-KIT BF533

By customer demand the Promwad company has developed a WiFi-ZigBee-USB expansion daughter board for the popular development kit from Analog Devices ADSP-BF533 EZ-KIT Lite. Embedded Linux board support package has been developed too. The developed WiFi-ZigBee-USB extender card is compatible with the other Blackfin processors developer's toolkits such as ADSP-BF537 EZ-KIT Lite or ADSP-BF561 EZ-KIT Lite.

Information board controller

November 2006
Promwad team developed a device for remote control of information board for a Russian customer. The controller is designed on the basis of SoC RDC R8610 with application of almost all available interfaces and buses: Ethernet, USB, LPC, PCI, X-BUS, GPIO. The device has embedded Linux, Web-server and Web-interface.

Multi-purpose data acquisition controller

November 2006
We designed a data hub hardware-software solution for an automated power supply monitoring and control system on demand of the Russian manufacturing company. The digital platform was developed based on System-on-Chip Atmel AT91RM9200. The controller was provided with RS-485, RS-232, Ethernet 10/100 Base-T, GSM/GPRS, SPI and PLC interfaces. The board support package (BSP) for AT91RM9200 board was also developed including optimized version of Embedded Linux operating system and necessary Linux device drivers.

Universal Intel XScale PXA255 Based Module

March 2006
We designed a schematic diagram and traced an OEM-module printed circuit board on the basis of the PXA255 microcontroller. The following interfaces were implemented: Ethernet, Full-speed USB OTG, RS-232, TFT LCD with a Touch Screen, system extension bus, real-time clock with an independent power supply. There's also a possibility to flexibly manage power consumption.

FPGA-based CMOS Matrix Controller

November 2005
JV "Proscan Special Instruments" resorted to our service of "CPLD programming". We developed a number of IP core controllers, ISA, DMA, SDRAM, CMOS of the sensor Fillfactory LUPA-4000-M. On the basis of Xilinx picoBlaze CPU core and developed IP cores, we developed CSoC projects for HS-301F-1 and HS-301F-TEM cameras that were further mass produced by the client.

On 28-29th June close to Krupki town, in Velikoe Boloto stow, another race of the same name with the event's venue - Velikoe boloto was held. This is the second event during the year within the Promwad Tour '08 Adventure Races Cup.
